If you have been denied Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits it is important that you appeal your denial. When you receive your denial, you have 60 days to file an appeal. If you do not file an appeal within 60 days your claim will be closed and if you continue to be unable to work you will have to file a new claim.
Contact an attorney when you are denied

To appeal your denial you can file your appeal online at the Social Security website. You can call the Social Security Administration to have the forms mailed to you or you can visit your Social Security office. You will need to tell the Social Security Administration that you want to appeal your Social Security Disability denial.
